SELF-CLEANING IRRIGATION FILTER 4″E
- Installation of a 4″ flange self-cleaning filter, for a maximum flow rate of 80,000L/h.
- Installation for drip irrigation of vegetable gardens and fruit trees.
The water used comes from a stream with a lot of sediment. The previous mesh filter was constantly getting clogged and required a lot of time and water to clean. This has been solved with the self-cleaning filter.

PHOTOVOLTAIC HOT WATER (PHOTOTERM) IN A CHEESE STORE
In a cheese factory located in the north of Catalonia, they use a lot of hot water (to heat the milk base, but also to clean). Until now they heated the water with a diesel boiler. To break the dependence on this fuel, two photothermal lines were installed. Line 1 works with a 1200 liter accumulator. Line 2 heats a 200 L domestic hot water tank.
- Line 1: FOT-T 3000 regulator with 2200Wp installed power. A 4000W-230Vac resistor has been installed. Voltage absorbed by the resistance is 167Vdc equivalent to 82% of the installed power
- Line 2: FOT-T 3000 regulator with 2750Wp of installed power. A 1500W-230Vac resistor has been installed. The ideal would have been to put a higher power resistor, but the battery cover is small and there is no room for a bigger one. Voltage absorbed by the resistor is 219Vdc, equivalent to 52% of the installed power

PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION 4550Wp
Design and help in the installation of a new photovoltaic installation in a completely electrically isolated area.
In an idyllic place, a family lives there, and rents out small wooden chalets, intended for indoor gatherings. The family already had some PV panels and a Pb-H battery system, but time and high consumption left the 24V system quite affected.
The supports were made by the customer and the aluminum profiles were provided.
Installed power: 4550Wp
6kW/48V Deye hybrid inverter
Battery Ion-Lithium Weco 4.4k
With the old panels, a FOT-T 2000 photothermal system is connected, heating the existing 200L accumulator. The hot water went from 15.5 to 26ºC in a short time.

INSTALLATION OF 2 TF300 TURBINES
GEDERlab of the Polytechnic University of Valencia is developing a demonstrative project of various renewable energy sources and among them is the simulation of a micro-hydraulic power plant.
The micro power plant is made up of a turbine/pumping system forming a closed system with two tanks. Two turbines (model TF-650 with an estimated output of 300Wh) and a pumping system are installed in the lower part, to raise the turbined water and store it again in the upper tank.

INSTALLATION OF A 200 L DHW ACCUMULATOR WITH PHOTOTHERMY
Photothermia is the concept of heating water for DHW or heating, exclusively with photovoltaic panels and a FOT-T regulator.
In this case, a 200 Lt accumulator has been installed to have enough thermal inertia of domestic hot water (DHW).
Technical sheet:
– Family: 4 people
– Location: Isolated house without electricity network connection.
– Photothermic power: 450Wp x2
– Accumulator: 200 Lt with internal coil to support the heating boiler
-Tubes: Copper D15-22-28mm
-Regulator: FOT-T VDC 2000 in box already wired with 230-12V power supply and Vdc protections
-Heat source: Electric resistance inside accumulator

MIXED PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION 3600Wp + 900W/h HYDRAULIC TURBINE
Design and assembly of a mixed photovoltaic system combined with PLT-HP hydraulic turbine from Powerspout, on an agricultural property located in the south of Portugal. Installed power 3640Wp + 900W/h of hydraulic power (potential of 39kW/h-day).
It is an agricultural estate without a public electricity network. With the installation completed, they can work directly with the electrical energy obtained or store it in the 15.9kW lithium-ion batteries. A hybrid regulator – inverter of 8kW of active power (7840W real power) is used.
The system consists of photovoltaic panels located in the South-West direction, lithium-ion battery and hybrid regulator-inverter of 8kW of active power plus a PLT-HP hydraulic turbine powered by a D75mm PE pipe.
The South-West orientation is effective to have the batteries charged in the late afternoon. The biggest consumptions occur at noon and in the evening.

PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION 7200Wp IN A PRIVATE HOUSE
Design and assembly of a photovoltaic system, in a private house located in the Eastern Pyrenees. Installed power 7200Wp + 900W of photothermia.
With the installation done, they can have 100% photovoltaic energy. It is a house with a public electricity grid, but the client has chosen to use this grid only as a one-time support. Therefore, the system consists of photovoltaic panels, lithium-ion battery and hybrid regulator-inverter of 8kW of active power (6.5kW in isolation).

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A TFC-300 CROSS-FLOW HYDRAULIC TURBINE PROTOTYPE
The idea was to develop a mini hydraulic turbine that would work with open channels with a very low slope. Or with small jumps in irrigation canals or ditches. Due to lack of financial resources, the prototype cannot be put into production.
I managed to develop a prototype (three versions), which worked with a flow rate of between 9-25L/s, at a height of 0.65m net.
For the construction I followed the hydraulic analysis of cross-flow turbines, but placing the axis vertically. This allowed working with very little height or difference between water layers and serious viability even in channels with only differences of 30-40cm.
Due to lack of financial resources, I was unable to put the prototype into production.
If you are interested in the topic and think I can help you, get in touch.

ROMAN MUSEUM HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM
Humidification system of some Roman ruins located inside the Roman Museum in a city.
The moistening was done to avoid a desiccation of the walls (base of the old Roman wall), which had been buried for about 1500 years. To preserve it from sudden changes in temperature and humidity they asked me to install a humidification system (with large drops, so it couldn’t be spraying).
It uses several activated sectors with Watermark humidity sensors and automatic opening according to the degree of humidity inside the wall. For humidification, low-flow Rivulis emitters (2 l/h) were used at a network pressure (2-3 bar)

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A TERTIARY WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT USED FOR HYDROPONIC GARDENING
The client of this work has an effluent with a high content of organic matter and needs to use the water to irrigate his vegetable garden.
The direct application of water (effluent) for irrigation was not viable due to the high content of organic matter.
A study was carried out of necessary volumes and flows and objectives to be met for irrigation water.
The installation consists of: A reception tank that acts as a reserve to be refilled when there is an influx of effluent. A decanter and coarse particle filter. A pump suitable for waste water. An organic filtration system made up of a 60ml (approx) PVC tube. The filtration was done with plants adapted to a high content of organic matter, and with bare roots (direct root-effluent contact, with intervals of 30-30min).
A second accumulation tank for the collection of filtered water. A second pump takes the water to an activated carbon filter and UV light to remove batteries and viruses and leads the water to a third covered (dark) tank. The final water is used to irrigate the vegetable garden with self-compensating drip before a 150 mesh filter.
The system is automatic, both from the initial collection to the first tank and the irrigation in the vegetable garden. The most important maintenance is with the replacement of the plants that carry out the organic filtration.
